The short version

Onyx is a personal productivity app, and your workspace is private by default. Your tasks, notes, and goals are yours. We don't sell your data, and we collect only what we need to run the product.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address and authentication credentials, used to sign you in and communicate essential service updates.

Your content. The tasks, notes, goals, files, and other content you create in Onyx. This content is stored securely so it can sync to you and is not shared with anyone unless you explicitly share it (for example, a shared note link you create).

Operational data. Basic technical logs and error reports that help us keep the service fast and reliable.

How your data is stored

Your content is stored in our database infrastructure (Supabase/PostgreSQL) with access controls that scope every record to your account. Shared note links are unguessable tokens, can be protected with a PIN, and can be revoked by you at any time.

AI features

Some optional features (such as coaching and analysis tools) send the specific content you invoke them on to third-party AI providers to generate a response. These features run only when you use them — nothing in your workspace is sent to AI providers in the background.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your personal data or your content.
  • We don't show ads or share data with ad networks.
  • We don't read your content except as required to operate the service or with your explicit permission (for example, a support request).

Your choices

You can delete content at any time from within the app, and you can stop sharing any note you've shared. If you want your account and its data removed, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes and contact

We'll update this policy as the product evolves and change the date above when we do. Questions or requests? Reach us on X at @onyxlabs.
